Maple & Spice Oat Milk Latte

I absolutely love this comforting tea latte because it warms me to the core and it's so good for me too! Be sure to enjoy it with a Carrot Cake Muffin or slice of my carrot cake loaf.

I love a warming, comforting tea latte, whether it's my Lazy Lady Latte or this one. I think one of the most important aspects of a good tea latte is using a yummy tasting milk. My two favourite non-dairy milks to use are oat milk and coconut milk - either homemade or store-bought. If you're using the latter, be sure to check out my post all about choosing the best non-dairy milk

Oat milk Tea Latte

Oat milk is very neutral tasting making it ideal for lattes and cappucinos because the taste of the milk doesn't take over.

The tea I make my lattes with in the fall/winter is the Rise and Shine from my tea collection because the spices are so cozy! And I really care about what my tea is made of — here are 7 ingredients you don't want in your tea .

And be sure to enjoy your tea latte with my Carrot Cake Muffins, they are damn good! These are muffins from my Carrot Cake Loaf -- I just put the batter into muffin tins and voila muffs!

I also added some whipped coconut cream to the muffins which haven't hit the market yet, but I was lucky enough to try it out. It's from Cha's Organics, which is JOYOUS APPROVED -- it's so good!!

For a really great foam because oat milk is hit and miss, I often just steam some coconut milk because it froths a lot more, so just something to keep in mind.

Ingredients
  • Steep 1 cup of your favourite tea (Rise and Shine Tea)
  • 1 tbsp dark maple syrup
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1 cup oat milk
  • 1/4 cup coconut milk or almond milk (if you want extra creamy froth)
Instructions
  1. Steep your favourite tea for 3-5 minutes in 1 a cup of hot water.
  2. Using a milk frother like Nespresso or a milk steamer on your espresso machine, warm up the milk.
  3. Once tea has steeped, remove tea bag and pour tea between two mugs. Pour warmed oat milk between two cups.
  4. Pour maple syrup into latte and stir.
  5. Sprinkle nutmeg and cinnamon, stir into latte. Sprinkle some on top.
  6. If you want extra foam/froth, steam a bit of almond or coconut milk for the top. This doesn't really add any taste, it's more just for appearances so feel free to skip this step.

Notes

Makes 2 lattes.

Be sure to have a carrot cake muffin or Carrot Cake Cookie with this wonderfully, warming latte and sprinkle extra spices on top of the latte too, oh so fancy!

I hope you love this latte!

Hey..... wait a second? Shouldn't the recipe be for a maple latte and not oat milk?

Hi Joy! You mentioned that coconut milk will froth better than the oat milk. I can never get my coconut milk to froth. Are you using coconut milk straight from the can or making a pitcher of coconut milk? I use canned coconut milk without guar gum added. I add the milk to my Vitamix with 3-4 cups of filtered water and one date, then pour into a pitcher. When I go to make a latte, it doesn’t froth at all. Help! What am I doing wrong?

Just made this earlier this morning! Definitely a new favorite, and I look forward to receiving my Rise and Shine Tea for future lattes!

Yummy! This looks amazing! I can’t wait to try! What kind of frother do you have?
